Description: U.S. Cavalry Officers Saber. Circa 1840?s. Blade is approximately 31?. Overall length is approximately 37?. Blade is etched with panoply of arms on both sides. Ricosso is marked ?New York and Hortsmann and Sons, US Drucker?. Rayskin with two strand wire wrap. Scabbard is very good, no dents or dings. Back of blade has a floral pattern. A good looking Mexican War Officers saber.
