Description

Composited crossguard, hilt, much later cup; blade appears possibly 17th century with added markings. Blade of partially flattened form marked "F * BARne: CARRERAS **" at ricasso, one side further marked "1171". Cup with incised geometric designs and a panel with more elaborate design and "1211". Copper wire wrapped grip and faceted ovoid handle. CONDITION: Blade cleaned in the European fashion over some old darkness, some markings obliterated, and some chips to cutting edge. Cup With some darkness but brighter as new. Wire grip loose and exposes wood core. Blade Length: 36" Overall Length: 44"
