Country of Origin: Japan Presented is a fabulous Japanese Meiji period cloisonne charger. This piece dates to around the late 1800s or early 1900s. The majority of the dish is blue background with colorful images of quail and flowers. The border of the dish is done in a variety of colors, which contrasts with the light blue background nicely. The edge of the dish is copper or bronze. The work on the back is fantastic as well, with wire spiral designs and flowers. It's a beautiful piece with a lot of color, very well made. The work is all very well done, and this is an attractive and eye-catching piece, which would look great in a cabinet or hung on a wall. This piece is in great condition. The wire and enamel are all intact. There are no breaks and no repairs. The charger has a diameter of about 12 1/2 inches. Weight: 2 lbs 10.7 oz (1210 grams)
