Title:Victorian Sterling Guilloche Curved Floral Holder Brooch/Tussie MussieDescription:Victorian Sterling Guilloche Curved Floral Holder Brooch/ This is a Victorian era Tussie Mussie or Posy Holder with guilloche enamel floral design with white background and blues and greens. It is appz. 1-5/8" long and 1/4" tall. These were used back in the day to hold either a single thicker stemmed flower such as a tulip, iris, daffodil, daisy, or a small bouquet of smaller flowers. It has a pin that is mounted on the curved part and pointed toward the pinback. The bouqet or flower slips onto that pointed pin. These were called posy holders and tussie mussie is in good to very condition. This has a c-clasp pinback and is in good condition and great working order. The guilloche decoration is in very good condition - it has a cut-out design at the bottom of the curve toward the parts that extend outward. No chips. The metal tests as sterling at a weight of 4.63 gr. It is not signed or marked. These pieces are out there but much more rare. I've seen similar to this one at close to $100 and over.
