Tramp art frame made by Charles Mathias Mikkelsen housing a diploma dated 1907. Wonderful, all original frame without any issues. There is an historical image of him making a similar tramp art frame at a kitchen table. You can see all of the tools he would use to make his tramp art frames. There is a small tramp art watch hutch on the wall with his initials. The image was the first that showed distinctively that tramp art was indeed a home-based art form. Interestingly he is dressed more formally than you would expect. He looks extremely proud of his work. He brought the frames with him when he came to this country.
