Description
A vintage scarce ORIGINAL period example of '1955 8th World Jamboree commemorative stick badge' in the form of a thin sheet metal brass oval, with four pin holes to bend round and attach to a staff, inscribed in relief 'The St. Catharines and District Chamber of Commerce New Horizons Jamboree 1955'. Very Good condition, one small stain marks on the front (see photo). Back is in excellent condition. Measures Height approx. 1 1/2" (39mm), width 1 1/8" (28.575mm.) A little history: At the 8th World Scouting Jamboree 1955 New Horizons celebration, each participant was given a souvenir postage stamp compliments of the Bank of Nova Scotia and a commemorative coin (badge) compliments of the St. Catharines & District Chamber of Commerce.
