This Vintage Leaded Crystal Ashtray is in excellent condition. NO chips, or flea bites and measures 4" x 1 3/4" . Pinwheel design on the bottom. This is a quality piece. A little history: Lausitzer Glaswerke was founded in 1889 as Oberlausitzer Glaswerke J. Schweig and Co. (Upper Lausitz Glass Works). In 1946 the firm was expropriated as a state owned business, VEB Oberlausitze Glaswerke Weiswasser. Until the First World War, the Lausitzer Glaswerke were the biggest stemware producers in Germany. Until the German reunification (1991) the Lausitzer Glaswerke was the largest glasswork in former GDR and the employer for up to 4,000 people.
