This RARE Tom's Toasted Peanuts - Always Fresh Tom's Distb. 2 Qt Container is one that most , maybe no other collector will have. It is stamped on the bottom Not To Be Sold Prop. Tom's Distb. I could not find another one like it. It is in near MINT condition with the exception of one small chip on lid (see photo). It came from a Salesman collection of items at an auction. Measures 6 1/4" H x 7 7/8" diameter of lid base has a diameter of 7 3/8" and holds 2 Qt.
A very RARE collectible for any collection. I conjecture that this might have been the first taste test like they have as Sams. You could taste the peanuts in this container and then purchase some. I feel sure that this was not a local event most likely at the plant where fresh roasted peanuts were available. Just a guess but sounds good.
