Description
Two drawing books entitled Krone's Paragon Series of Drawing Books, Nos. 2 and 3, original publication date by Krone Bros., New York, copyright 1880's. Book no. 2 is 8 pages in length (front and back- total of 16 pages), and is a series of line exercises, progressing from simple, single lines to combinations of lines to construct images such as flowers, patterns and shapes. The front cover of both books is bordered and illustrated, including a diagonally positioned instrument across the cover. The back of the book on each contains general directions for drawing, materials needed, and a listing of the titles in the series. The inside of the front and back covers of Book No. 2 provides definitions of terms, with illustrations of those terms. All the exercises have been filled in by a previous owner. Book No. 3 consists of 8 leaves, each with an image and space for you trying to copy it. Each of the 8 leaves was protected by a tissue guard sheet (tracing paper- most are missing now.) The inside of the front and back covers contains the same definitions, explanations, and illustrations as those found in Book No. 2. All the illustrations have been copied in pencil by a previous owner. You can use tracing paper to do these yourself.
