Description: Gold/Silver Tone Blue Lab Sapphire Blossom Ring, Sz. 8, 1990's-2000's, Signed R. This is marked .925 but it does not test as sterling . The stones do test as sapphire and would be lab created. Lab stones are not glass or crystal - they are grown in a lab under ideal conditions and create the larger crystals with the same minerals and components as a natural sapphire. These stones are then cut from the larger crystal to create jewelry - the same as natural stoneThe stones are marquise, except the center is round. They marquise are appx. 5mm by 3mm with a smaller one on each lower side. There is a silver tone pointed accent on each of the upper sides of the band with raised accents giving it an illusion design of small round and baguette clear stones - but it is an illusion - there are no stones. The top of the ring has a blossom design and is appx. 19.5mm going down the finger and tapers down to appx. 3.5mm at the back of the finger. The maker - the R mark - is usually mismarked. It is a maker out of China that makes pretty costume jewelry and is marking it as if it were sterling. These plated rings should not be worn while swimming, doing dishes, bathing, etc., as it will impact the finish much faster that way rather than just wearing them for a night out - to work, etc. This is in excellent condition and unworn.
