Description
1835 US Capped Bust silver dime struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The obverse features the Capped Bust design surrounded by thirteen stars with the date 1835 centered at the bottom. The reverse displays a heraldic eagle with a shield, the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the denomination 10 C. This 10-cent coin is composed of 89.2 percent silver and 10.8 percent copper. Fine details. The surfaces exhibit heavy, directional scratches across the fields of both the obverse and reverse, consistent with abrasive cleaning. Moderate wear is visible on the high points of Liberty’s hair and the eagle’s feathers. Toning is uneven with darker patination along the denticulated rims.
