About the artists: Maksimenko Mykola (b. 1924) - Ukrainian painter, master of landscape and still life. Born in Yaropovychi village, Zhytomyr region. He studied at Magnitogorsk Art Studio (1941-1942). He took lessons from I. Grabar. He was awarded orders and medals. Works in easel painting, particularly in genres of landscape and still life. People's Artist of Ukraine (1994), winner of the Shevchenko State Prize for series of works "Landscapes of Ukraine" (1994). Lives and works in Zhitomir.
