Pair of Early 20th C. Lega Lukwakongo African Carved Wood Masks

Description

Here is a beautiful pair of Luwakongo African carved wood masks that are known as Lega Passport masks. The size of these means that they were used as individual passports for traveling. The masks were placed on the arm, hat or carried as a form of identification. They are lightweight and have holes on the sides for hanging/display. I love the history and the smaller size which would make them a wonderful addition to a collection.
