Description:Vintage Sterling Carved Frog and Amber Brooch/Pendant, Amy Kahn Russell. Sterling cookie cutter style base with a bezel from shape and circle. The frog holds a rised rock crystal carved frog that is appx. 1.5" long and sits up at the head at appx. 7/8" and is appx. 1" wide at the back feet. Behind the frog is a 16mm round amber cabochon. The piece itself it 2.5" long from frog nose tot he back and 1.25". It is marked sterling and tests as sterling with an appx. weight of 26.93 grams. It is signed AKR which is Amy Kahn Russell. I have found many pieces by this silversmith and the lowest in this range is $298.00 and goes up t appx. $5.98 for these two stone type pieces. This si both a pendant with the bail mounted behind the frog and a brooch. The pinback lock and clamp is there but not the pin itself. A jeweler can simply replace that. I do not have any in stock in sterling or I would. This has been taken into consideration when pricing this piece. Other than that, it is in very good condition. The crystal does have some inclusions as rock crystal does. There are black marks in the face at the edge and jaw. Age is unknown but estimated 1990's. (W71624.5X5 SS14919 J LD 11/12/24)
