Description: A leaf from the "Gun-Wadd" bible printed by Christoph Saur at Germantown in Philadelphia in 1776, The bible received its name because of the use by troops (disputed whether American or British) of osse leaves as wadding paper for rifles. In Fraktur, this leaf from the Apostle of Paul. Very Good condition, measures 8 x 9.5".. Accompanied by a color copy of the title leaf.
