Walter Van Beirendonck colorful patchwork blazer in the style of Look 1 from the Fall/Winter 2019 Ready-to-Wear collection, from the collection of Boy George.
A single-breasted acrylic and polyamide blend blazer featuring classic notch lapels, lapels, a two-button closure, a left chest pocket, and flap pockets at the hips. The jacket is composed of irregular, painterly shapes in vibrant tones of pink, green, blue, yellow, orange, and purple, balanced with softer neutrals including light blue, beige, and brown. The surface features layered, organic forms with varied textures, combining smooth woven areas with subtly raised thread for added dimension. The interior is lined with gold tone viscose and is labeled a size 56.
In his Fall 2019 Menswear review, fashion critique Luke Leitch described Walter Van Beirendonck's collection as "clothes that wear you." The designs pushed past traditional menswear, with bold colors, oversized shapes, and playful, almost creature-like details that made each look feel alive. As Leitch said, the collection was "very much alive," balancing strong craftsmanship with a sense of humor and a bold, attention-grabbing energy.
