This original pen-drawn cartoon depicts a crowd in front of a man on a desk.
It measures 17 inch wide, by 14 inch high, frame is wood, showing some signs of wear according to age.
OLSEN & JOHNSON was created in 1914 when Ole Olsen (1892-1963) and Chic Johnson (1891-1962) teamed up in a comedy act that made them very popular on the vaudeville circuit. They appeared in eight films in the 30s and 40s but had their one big success in Hellzapoppin' (1941), a screen version of their 1938-1940 Broadway hit. The film garnered an Oscar nomination for Best Song. Olsen was the father-in-law of William Lear, who invented the 8-track tape and the Lear Jet.
