After Jefferson Airplane dissolved in 1972, founding member Paul Kantner launched Jefferson Starship in 1974, blending psychedelic rock roots with a more polished, radio-friendly sound. The band initially featured former Airplane members like Grace Slick and Marty Balin, helping maintain a strong connection to their earlier work, though the lineup changed several times eventually morphing into Starship in the mid-1980s, known for glossy pop-rock hits like “We Built This City” and “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now.” This RARE poster announced Jefferson Starship playing in Hawaii in May 1993 with the Eric Burdon-Brian Auger Band.
