This is a museum-quality reproduction of the classic Rams Horn slide bolt, a staple of 18th and 19th-century Pennsylvania German (PA Dutch) architecture. Characterized by the symmetrical double-scroll handle, this latch represents the pinnacle of "Country Gothic" blacksmithing.
The "Rams Horn" Distinction
Symmetrical Artistry: The handle features a traditional split-end "Rams Horn" scroll, meticulously hand-tapered and curled over the horn of an anvil.
