ABOUT THE ARTIST: Kononov Georgy Oleksandrovich - was born on the 15th of April 1896 in the Stariku village, Sumy region. He studied at the B. Daue art studio in Sofia. He worked in the easel painting industry. Since 1961 he has taken part in republican and all-Union exhibitions. A personal exhibition was held in Lviv in 1959. The main works: "In the Gulf of Varna" (1939); "Bulgarian Landscape" (1945); "Autumn in the Striysky Park" (1959); "Evening at the High Stop" (1966); "The Rock of Simeiz" (1968) and others. The works are represented in the Ivan Franko Lviv Literary and Memorial Museum.
