Primary Material: Bronze,Type: Statue,Original/Reproduction: Antique Original,Age: 1850-1899,Country of Origin: China Presented is a fine antique bronze figure of the seated shakyamuni Buddha, dating to the 1800s and of southeast Asian, likely Tibetan origin. The Buddha is seated in lotus position with one hand palm up in his lap (dharmachakra mudra), depicted in a stylized fashion but with nice detailing in the form of texture and patterning on his robe. Stylized lotus-petal design around the front of the base. This piece is in excellent condition. The patina of the bronze is in good shape, but could be cleaned up further; we have left the dust and signs of age as is. There are no breaks, and no repairs. This piece stands about 14 3/4 inches tall and measures about 9 1/2 by 7 1/2 inches.
