Description
An English cottage transfer decorates this creamer. The lightweight ceramic has an off-white glaze with a colorful transfer. The rose finial, lid edge, creamer mouth and handle have hand painted burgundy accents. The foot is shallow with flat partial glazing. The base is glazed.
There is a transfer mark on the base that reads: COPELAND SPODE ENGLAND within and around a rectangle mark. There is also a hand painted production number in yellow of 2 1030 2. Spode used this mark on earthenware between 1891 into the 1930s.
MEASUREMENTS
4 ¼ in (10.8 cm) wide x 3 ½ in (8.9 cm) diameter x 5 in (12.7 cm) tall. Weighs 8.2 oz (230 g)
CONDITION
There is a chip and a fracture mark under the rim of the lid. The fracture does not extend through to the top surface. There is crazing in the interior of the creamer and under rim the lid. There are no other cracks, chips, or breaks. There are manufacture flaws, such as spots and reserves.
