A handcolored leaf from an English Herbal compiled by John Gerard in his work "Generall Historie of Plants", printed at by John Norton London in 1597. This is from a collection assembled by Otto Ege in the 1920's from his compilation of leaves from famous books. Accompanid by the write-up by Ege. Fine condition with small nick at upper left margin, measures 8 x 12".
