Benedict Rougelet Beno?aet Rougelet also known as B??n??dict Rougelet is a French sculptor born in Tournus on September 17, 1834, and died in Ivry-sur-Seine on July 17, 1894. He was known for his figure sculptures and drawings. He was the son of Pierre Rougelet, a tanner, and formed a drawing workshop for young stonemasons opened by Father Philibert Garnier, a priest in Tournus, who was the foster brother of Alceste de Chapuys-Montlaville, senator during the Second Empire. In 1862, he was in Lyon where he worked under the direction of Guillaume Bonnet.
