Description
The angel replicates Oskar Hansen's 1936 "Winged Figures of the Republic," designed for the Hoover Dam. The original is bronze, 30 feet tall, on Hoover Dam. Multiples of the sculpture may be produced upon request. History: Norwegian-born and naturalized American sculptor Oskar J.W. Hansen designed many of the sculptures on and around the Hoover Dam. His works also include the monument of the dedication plaza and a plaque to memorialize the workers.
The sculpture was originally produced for the 1997 film "Buddy” starring Rene Russo. The statue was also used in "Batman & Robin" (1997) and "Catwoman" (2004) in addition to several music videos.
