Alfredo Barbini, was a celebrated glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy. He was one of Murano's leading glass art figures of the 20th Century. He represented a legacy of glass making which was well reflected in his works. His parents were members of families which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations.
