The American Clown set is a special treat of four crazy clowns. This set was produced over 5 years starting in 1996 and ending with the addition of the base in 2000. The base was added in 2000. Each clown is signed and dated. The series started in 1996 with a clown ready to fire a cannon. The second in the series adds a clown holding a bullseye target - with a mirror on the back?!? As the third in the series was released, we have a new clown posing into that mirror on the back of the bullseye...uh-oh! Finally, the series completes with the fourth clown, a clown with a bucket of water ready to douse the fuse on the cannon...whew!! These sculptures were purchased from the Michael Ricker Gallery in Myrtle Beach, SC, before it closed. It is referred to sometimes as the Big Top Clown Collection. This set comes with the base which fits each clown and makes it a complete unit instead of just 4 separate figurines. Each clown is approximately 7" tall (the clown bent over is 6") It is almost impossible to find this set today. The only references on the internet are items that are already sold. I have not seen a single one with the base that makes this a set. This is one of Ricker's most sought after sets and those that have collected it, keep it.
