This Humpty Dumpty doll by Faith Wick for Silvestri has a porcelain head, hands and legs. Dressed in maroon velvet with cloth bow tie and collar. It is in excellent condition. It has the W for Wicket Originals on the back of neck. It measures 13 1/2" x 13" (arm to arm). This is the 1985 edition which consisted of 4000 dolls- this is 379 (could be 370) of that number.
A little history: THIS IS THE SILVESTRI DOLLCRAFTER CLASSICS FIRST RUN, IN 1985, OF FAITH'S DESIGN. In 1978, Faith formed Wicket Originals, a cottage industry composed of fine craftsmen around the United States, offering fine quality, original, dressed sculptures in VERY LIMITED editions to the discerning collector. Faith would sculpt the original "Little Person" character/doll in clay, then a "master mold maker" would create a mold into which the "porcelain artisan" would pour the porcelain "slip" to obtain the " green-ware " which, after careful cleaning, would be fired in a kiln. Next would come the porcelain painter, body maker, costume maker, wig maker, &, where necessary, the leather-worker , weaver, metal worker, glass blower, woodworker, & any other artisans required to complete the piece.
