Description
This beautifully modeled example features flowing organic lines characteristic of the Jugendstil movement, with sculpted fruit, foliage, and branch motifs in high relief encircling the body. The domed lid continues the naturalistic decoration and terminates in a stylized bud-form finial. Delicate side handles and ball feet complete the design.
Founded in the late nineteenth century, Kayserzinn became one of Germany's most respected producers of Art Nouveau pewter, creating artistic tableware and decorative objects that remain highly collectible today.
The present example displays excellent visual appeal with substantial relief decoration and classic Art Nouveau styling. Equally suitable for display in a period interior, pewter collection, or decorative arts collection.
