Description
The design, with a wooden footbed and long curling blade, is characteristic of skates from the 19th century or earlier. Similar styles were common in the Netherlands and other parts of Europe for centuries. The leather straps, some missing, were used to secure the skates to everyday boots or shoes.
They measure 15" Long.
Originating from the Friesland province of the Netherlands, these skates, date from the 1930s to the 1950s and are designed for long-distance, straight-line skating.
