Description
Translation of the Representation Addressed to the Supreme Government by Gen. Vicente Filisola a modern facsimile. The original manuscript of 1837 is one of the earliest books printed in the Republic of Texas. General Filisola wrote this vindication of his actions only four months after the Battle of San Jacinto. Recognizing its immense strategic and historical value, Texas Secretary of State Stephen F. Austin recommended that the document be translated. President Sam Houston agreed, and the Texas Congress voted to print it at public expense.
