This antique side-by-side double barrel shotgun is a 12 gauge black powder percussion firearm of unknown maker, featuring 34-inch barrels, a 14-inch length of pull, exposed hammers, and a double trigger configuration. These types of muzzleloading sporting shotguns were commonly produced in the 19th century for hunting and field use, and remain desirable today for their traditional craftsmanship and historical character.
The shotgun retains its classic exposed-hammer design, and the left hammer is currently stuck in place, a condition detail consistent with age and long-term storage. Despite this, the firearm remains a solid representative of its era with strong antique appeal for collectors of early black powder sporting arms. The bores are dull in color with age-related black powder corrosion and wear consistent with a firearm of this period.
