Bio:
Carl-Harry Stalhane (1920-1990) was one of the most influential Swedish ceramic artists of the 20th century. Born in Mariestad, he joined Rorstrand at a young age, initially training and later working as an assistant to Gunnar Nylund. He soon established his own distinctive style, characterised by disciplined proportions, sculptural restraint, and innovative glaze work. During the 1950s and 1960s he was responsible for many of Rorstrand's most celebrated studio and art ceramics, playing a key role in the company's international standing.
