Bio:
During the first decades of the 20th century, Royal Copenhagen produced a wide range of naturalistic animal figures in glazed porcelain, based on close observation of live models. Works from the 1920s are characterised by calm, balanced poses, softly modelled surfaces and restrained colouring that emphasises form and volume rather than decoration. The larger animal sculptures were made in relatively small numbers and are today regarded as some of the most collectible sculptural productions from the factory.
