Description
The Grenet cell is a single-liquid electrical battery invented in 1842 by German physicist Johann Christian Poggendorff and patented by Eugene Grenet Jr. in 1859. It was widely used for laboratory experiments and to power early devices, such as the first phonographs, before the invention of dry-cell batteries. This is a nice all original piece with a clear glass jar, no fogged, and all the elements intact. Jar measures 8.5"tall, 5" in diameter. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
