Description
An exceptional pair of early 20th-century phonograph advertising booklets published by the Victor Talking Machine Co. of Camden, New Jersey, both featuring a local dealer overprint for "John F. Ellis & Co." of Washington, D.C. The lot includes a September 1907 edition "Victor Record Catalogue" boasting a beautiful color-lithographed cover featuring Nipper the dog alongside early disc records, complete with a comprehensive internal alphabetical index of early talent, alongside a horizontal promotional booklet highlighting Victor Talking Machines and their historic grand prize wins at early expositions, including the Buffalo Pan-American Exposition. Both paper booklets are structurally complete with their original covers firmly attached. The pieces exhibit typical age-toning, soft corner creasing, minor edge wear, and faint handling smudges consistent with their age, but remain highly preserved, excellent display pieces. H 6.25", W 3.5", D 0.1" and H 3.375", W 6", D 0.1". Please see photos for condition. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
