Vintage Sterling Abalone Hinged Clamper Bracelet, 6.75", 1940's-1950's, Mexico Signed F. Balladares. This is a sterling bracelet, marked and tests, with an appx.w eight of 37.56 grams. It has two bands of abalone set on the outer sides with a recessed center silver beaded design. Those beads have a graduated design. The bracelet measures appx. 6.75" - but can be worn on a wrist up to 7". It is hinged at the back. The bracelet is papx. 3.75" from the silver beaded tip on one side to the other on top where it opens. This tapers to appx. 3.4" at the hinge in back. It is marked .925 and also signed by the maker. It has additional marking as well. The abalone is intact and this ws well taken care of. F. Balladares is well known and collectible silversmith from Mexico that produced pieces in the mid 1900's. Pieces signed "F. Balladares 925 Mexico" are considered collectible, vintage, and reflective of Taxco’s renowned silver artisan tradition. Very good condition. To not force he hinge open wider than it is meant to be as that can cause damage. Typical oxidation but it works with this piece given the age and character. It is in very good condition.
