IMPORTANT PIPE TOMAHAWK WITH INLAYS. American, Late 18th and early 19th Centuries. Iron or steel head, barrel-shaped bowl with cast tobacco and beaded bands, concave stem attaching to tear-shaped eye area, beaded edge around top edge eye area extending to end of blade, and also around base of eye area, left side of blade with pewter or silver inlaid spread wing eagle with seven star partial shield perched on a globe. The eagle has a banner inscribed "E. PLURIBUS UNIM" in his beak, engraved on the blade. On the reverse, inlaid pewter or silver double pointed oval engraved "I Baker" in script. Walnut slightly tapered shaft with engraved mother-of-pearl triangular inlays under the head and a diamond inlay below the right side. Vining pewter or silver inlays, a band below the head, and one at the center with a heart-shaped medallion engraved "W. A." in script. 16.25"h. 4.75"w.

Missing mouthpiece, one triangular mother-of-pearl inlay, and some vining inlay.
