This piece is an Antique Victorian mahogany chest of drawers often called a Scotch Chest featuring large, deep-drawered configuration and dated back to the mid to late 19th Century possibly between 1850 and 1870. It features barley twist columns or spiral turned columns on either side. showcasing the robust and ornate craftsmanship typical of the ear. The drawer configuration includes a ogee frieze drawer, at the top followed by a combination of short and long drawers. It appears to be made of flame mahogany with originally turned wooden knobs. It is a functional beauty with durable construction and has a very rich patina. It is believed to have originated from the UK.

Condition Notes: For the most part in excellent condition. The top does have a split in the middle of the wood where it has most likely over the years aged such that the single piece top split (See pictures). It also has one ding on the left side inside of the ogee frieze drawer and bottom back corner has a visual moving damage spot.
