This spectacular Mid-century era Chinese export is an incised, hand-painted Coromandel Screen which depicts a flock of geese soaring through the air. The rice paper gold gilding is the backdrop of this artist's depiction. Geese symbolizes marital fidelity, loyalty, and orderly progression because they mate for life and migrate in strict formation.

The reverse side of screen is painted flowers etched on black lacquer. The screen's eight supporting feet are enveloped in brass. The contrast and depth of this design changes with the light throughout the day, which makes it a very interesting work of art!
