Signed by Hartmann in pencil at bottom left blank margin, and by the artist at right adding limitation number 225/1000. WITH: JOHN W. F. M. HUFFER (1895-1986) American aviator who served in the French forces during World War I as part of the Lafayette Flying Corps, later commanding the United States Army Air Service's 94th Aero Squadron, contributing to the 94th's famous ‘Hat-in-the-Ring’ insignia.
