Description
A Burmese-style ‘dha’, a long knife or sword with a curved blade commonly used across Southeast Asia. This example features a hand-forged 21 in. blade, 30.5 in. overall, with a small crossguard, metal ferrule and bamboo grip. The blade is decorated with a geometric pattern and marked with several indistinct phrases, as well as the date ‘1955’. The black is housed in a bamboo scabbard wrapped with rattan and with a rope hanger, marked ‘Vidan 102’ in white paint. Shows dark patina and minor oxidation to the blade, else very good.
