The plates are beautifully painted and gilded with pink roses bordered in a pretty spring green topped with white enamel jewel decoration. The rims are nicely gilded. The bowls were marked on the underside with the maker’s mark for George Jones & Sons, Philadelphia, Made in England. They are also marked with Bailey, Banks & Biddle Co. for the retailer. These plates were made in the first half of the 1900s, and almost certainly the first quarter of the 1900s. There are two bowls that each have one hairline crack as shown in the last photo. All of the bowls have some faint utensil marks on the interior. One plate has a small chip filed from the edge and a darker, yellow bubble burst to the glaze in the bowl. Otherwise, the condition is excellent. The decoration is very sharp and crisp. There are no other cracks, no chips, no breaks, and no repairs. At least 10 of the bowls are usable. The bowls measure 9 1/4 inches in diameter. Weight: 12 lbs 6.4 oz (5624.1 grams)
