ABOUT THE ARTIST: Sevruk Galina Silvestrivna - was born on 18th of May, 1929 in Samarkand city, Uzbekistan. She graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute in 1959. Mentors: G. Svetlitsky, V. Puzyrkov. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1989. Honored Artist of Ukraine since 2006. Worked in an art fund; at the Academy of Architecture of Ukraine in the workshop of artistic ceramics. In collaboration with O. Zalivakha, L. Semykina, A. Gorskaya, and G. Zubchenko created the T. Shevchenko Kyiv State University stained-glass window "Shevchenko. Mother (1964), which was destroyed by the administration as ideologically hostile. Participated in exhibitions. Lived and worked in Kyiv. The artist died on the 13th of February, 2022.
