William Williams autographed a section cut from a document dated April 25, 1764.
The cut document section measures 7.125 x 1.5". Overall in excellent condition.
William Williams (1731-1811) was an American Founding Father, merchant, soldier, jurist, and statesman who represented Connecticut in the Continental Congress. A veteran of the French and Indian War, Williams became an outspoken supporter of colonial independence and, in 1776, signed the Declaration of Independence. He later served in the Connecticut legislature and held numerous judicial and civic offices, including justice of the peace.
