  • Description: Quercy - Cadurcium [Region of Cahors]. Region of Cahors, now roughly corresponding with the departments of Lot & Tarn-et-Garonne. The map is orientated towards the east by Janssonius, Johannes. Published 1631. Large folio 17th century uncoloured engraved map. Size 41 x 53 cm | 16.0 x 21.0 inches. Condition: Good; suitable for framing. The map has been mounted on thick laid paper, likely during the 19th century, which has served to restore a small area of wear and paper loss adjacent to the original centrefold. As a result, the original verso is not directly visible; when held to the light, no evidence of printing appears on the reverse. Some manuscript annotations, however, are discernible. Light toning. Please check the scan for any blemishes prior to making your purchase. There appears to be nothing printed on the reverse side, which is plain save for some manual annotations. The map has been backed on thick paper - see condition note.
