The map depicts the Margraviate of Brandenburg together with the Duchies of Pomerania and Mecklenburg, covering the Baltic littoral of what is now north-eastern Germany and Poland. The River Oder runs prominently through the centre, bisecting the region and flowing northward to its mouth at Stettin (Szczecin).
