Attractive interwar Swiss alpine tourist map of the upper Valais, centred on Évolène, Les Haudères and Arolla, extending east to Zermatt and the Matterhorn and west to include much of what is now the Verbier ski area, including Mont Fort and Mont Gelé. Finely detailed with contours, glaciers, paths and named peaks, and preserved in its original cover: a handsome piece of Swiss mountain cartography made for the early tourist trade. . Service topographique fédéral, Berne for Bazar Métrailler. Published 1929. Early 20th century folding alpine tourist relief map with original cover. Size 62 x 83 cm | 24.5 x 32.5 inches.
