Nava Devata, Jain Shrine

Description

Nava Devata is the navagraha of Jainism. It portrays nine supreme deities or tirthankaras assembled in a circle around a central tirthankara. Each tirthankara has its symbol beside or under for identification. There are two lions at the base protecting the shrine. There is no inscription, and the dark patina covers what is probably brass.This composite fabrication includes separately cast images overlaid on on another and placed on a throne plinth.

Condition

The lowest edge of the base is chipped in a few places. One edge of the exterior flame is very slightly bent. There is ritual worship residue in places.
