Description

Collectible Southern folk pottery piece, crafted by Joe Jug Johnson in Laurens, South Carolina, between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, features an ovoid, curving form adorned with cobalt ring decoration. It includes applied lug and strap handles and still retains its original agitator and cover. The churn measures approximately 16 1/2 in. H x 9 5/8 in. in diameter excluding the agitator. It is in overall good condition, showing some wear with minimal surface abrasions.
